Man is a social animal. Being an emotion filled, ambitious and intelligent animal, man discovered ways to stay protected. The first basic protection from strange animals was discovered by man during early Stone Age itself. Man used stones and later converted these stones into weapons for self protection. Earlier man used to live in caves. When man entered into civilized modern world, he started to construct homes to get protected himself and to provide protection to his family and his belongings.

He discovered many things, and started to keep the distance between rich and poor. This problem led to growing desire to become rich and popular. So, he worked hard day by day. But, some persons among them decided to become rich through robbery. This became a crime in todays HI-FI society. This led to various investigations and prosecution of criminals for their criminal activities.

As Man became worried more about his security, he found somehow, dog as a candidate for natural security system, because of its barking nature. If an unauthorized person comes in its area, the dog will start first barking. If the person stays there itself, then there is a possibility of biting him.

But, man went on researching for better security measures. He invented locks for protecting his belongings. The locks invented by man were fool proof in the starting days. But, ultimately, he found a way to break it open. This made man to look for much more intelligent security systems such as advanced security systems. The research in this field continued for making use of latest technologies. With the recent technological advancements in the field of computers, it has become a challenging task to develop a fool proof security system to protect from disasters in our homes. Among these most important home security systems are, home security alarms, and surveillance camera.

Home Security Alarms

Home Security Alarms will safe guard the personal belongings inside the house. One may need to be very alert, especially, while inside the kitchen. If the alarm is installed inside the kitchen or any other such sensitive places, then the smoke detector inside the alarm will alert the user as well as neighbors.

Types of Home alarms

The Home alarms are available in two types, namely wired and wireless systems. Both works in the same manner, which means that, it alerts the users of, any untoward incidents, but, with the only minor difference is that, the wired systems are connected with wires between the operational parts, where as in wireless systems uses transmitters and receivers instead of wires.

When the sensors, detects it starts alert the danger and it automatically send the signal to the monitoring station, there will be separate signals (message) for separate disasters, where monitoring station will carry out the monitoring by viewing the signal received them and call to the appropriate departments for further help. Typically there will monthly fee for the monitoring.

The camera, which is kept at the entrance or at the exit, will capture the all activities and which will be displayed live in the Television or in the PC. One can also record it on the VCR or in the PC or in the CDs or in to DVDs which can be used in future for investigations. If you have an internet enabled camera, then you can monitor your home, even when you are travelling with laptops or with Wi-Fi enabled mobile phones.

The major draw back of the surveillance is, that burglar can blank out the camera, by locating it easily, if he is a trusted person in the home. But even then, still it is effective, because it reduces burglary activity to much possible extent.
